Wasps v RM92

Postby fenlanderlady » Thu Jan 14, 2010 10:44 am

Ok well i've got the flights and the hotel booked; will get tickets when we get to the ground and my friend Sally has a better command of spoken French than i do - so i get my own tour guide as well!

Hoping to see RM use the home advantage and give Wasps a good run and with any luck a win; Sally meanwhile (being an avid Wasps supporter) has been getting all competitive about the game. It will be an interesting evening!

Hmmmm - cute French boys i'll leave alone but i may find it necessary for a post match tangle with some French rugby players hahahahaha. As for drinking - i'm guessing that there will be a lack of real ale, in which case i shall refrain from consuming too many glasses of the unfamilliar territory of lager style beers

I'll have a look and see if France4 have a 'catch up' or replay on line for programmes and see if i can't watch a replay of the game when i get back; thanks for the tip about that.

Hi guys

Had a very good time and an excellent game despite the fact that Wasps still topped the pool and go through. Right up until the last moment, the tickets for the game (ordered a week before from Wasps) did not arrive and so my travelling companion cancelled the order and we took a risk and decided to buy on the gate - tickets from Wasps were priced at £22 - tickets on the gate 6 euros - so actually Wasps did us a favour.

Play was end to end with a decent amount of play on the ground, good desicion making by the offical (Mark Jones) and a very friendly ground to attend.

Even better, a couple of locals who drink in the hotel bar were also going to the game and so we had company to and from the stadium as well as during the match. One of the people with us was a friend of a stadium worker and so we were able to gain access to the team arrival area and greet both teams as they arrived.

Now hoping that RM can get into the top four of Top 14, and so may get an opportunity to go and watch some late season matches as teams jostle for postion.
Oh and my French has come on leaps and bounds thanks to our new found RM friends and the staff at the hotel (which was out in the suburbs near the Colombes stadium and rarely a place that tourists go)
