Splendid social draw (if a tad challenging on t'field) for my club (Saracens). Paris, Clermont Ferrand & Dublin :D I've only got €800 in my €bank a/c - it's not going to be enough for the three away games. Still the £ exchange rate will only get better unless the Germans kick the Greeks out of the € ;)

I recall, decades ago, when W*sps were the champion club in England they entertained their French counterparts, the then Racing Club (US Métro were a separate outfit back then). It was quite an event, before the days of low-cost flights and satellite TV.

Methinks Sarries (who plan to host 4 games at Wembley Stadium this term) should choose to host the Parisiens there!

Any tips on how to get to Clermont cheaply would be welcome.

Cheers Tony manx for the Pools for HCup next season.

Hey TTT

Now I would definately be up for a Sarries/RM fixture at Sarries (being UK based). Looking forward to that fixture though wherever its played and i'm guessing that being HCup - RM may choose the play at Stade de France for any home fixtures? The Colombes ground will hopefully be getting a make-over in the coming months. Unlikely though that i can manage Clermont or Leinster - too expensive by far in Dublin and possibly too far to travel without time off work for Clermont.

You're lucky you have the 800euros - i came back from Normandy with 75! But i have a couple of months to start saving rugby pennies - the Montpol fixture also beckons in Top 14 and we can't let Gaston keep all the med weather to himself :)

Does Racing still have any of the Sarries old boys? Dan Scabs, perhaps? I imagine Simon Rawalui has retired by now & Ben Russell has perhaps gane back to blighty.

Dan Scarborough is still there and plays fairly often (saw him in all three of the games i went to last season); and Raiwalui is still in the line-up and has played last season. Russell moved on though.

Mr Quins has said that he's also interested in going to a Sarries/RM game - cool!

Terrasblogger - will you go to the Sarries match?
