Six weeks???????? Flannery

Six weeks???????? Flannery

Astounded at decision to ban for just six weeks; surely thats not much of an example? Ok Flannery misses rest of 6N but what if he had connected with even more force and broken Palissons leg? How long would Palisson be waiting until he was playing.

Ok it could be argued that Palisson did not suffer that sort of injury - but if the intent is there to deliberately hurt, surely that has to be accounted for?

What does Wayne Barnes get? Oh and the touch judge who thought it was a shoulder charge?

Nothing/nadda/zilch

Not at all sure why they bothered making a fuss in the first place now - bad Flannery, naughty boy, slap the wrist, you're 'grounded' for six weeks - now go to your room and say sorry to the nice IRB people and that chap from France whose leg you could have broken! I'm sure (I hope) that he is genuinely sorry for his actions but still don't think he has been given a strong enough punishment - or am i just too old fashioned in believing that bad behaviour should be punished - not let off!

must agree, once again the discpline panel show their eunoch status in wiping under the table another ridiculous descision, the play had stopped, his shoulder was in front of his boot, i dont think so!!!!So Palisson is French it does not matter!!!! well our revenge will be the defeat of Wales, Italy and then THE ROSBIFS. in France we say revenche" c'est un plat qu'on mange froid" (revenge is a dish eaten cold)
the only other thing to add is PATHETIC, and not even to mention the name Barnes.

Phew Gaston - it gladdens me that you agree.

Looking at the planet rugby website and the comments to the announcement by registered users - (would they be Irish the first two?) I had wondered if my comments earlier on here were a little too strong. I stand by what i have said though.

Am toying with the idea of a Wales/France ticket - fantastic game when i managed to go three (or was it four) years ago; i'll have to see if i can get the day off work. Italy game is out of the question though. But i too am relishing the last game of the Tournoi - only four weeks on Saturday and my bag is packed already (and Mr Quins has his England shirt ready to wear! - bless him). Are you planning to go to the game?

Got the whole deal booked now and we also get a weekend wander in Paris as well - hopefully make a trip back up to Colombes while there as no doubt there will be some celebrating going on at the ground if France win the 6N!

I see the little OIK has decided to appeal a very lenient suspension and can only hope and trust that they get it right this time and increase it to the six months he deserves........

And would you be placing any hard earned cash on that little wager?

I can't see it decreased, i can't see it changed at all - to increase it would be to admit that they got the desicion wrong initially. An appeal some ten days after the ban was given seems a little bit slow to me? surely if you're that bothered about it you appeal the desicion within a matter of hours?
