Collapse of Canterbury NZ (Europe)

How do people think the collapse of Canterbury is going to affect the game?

As a USAP fan I wonder what will happen with their kit supply.

There seems to be a lot of clubs in the Top14 sponsored by them... Dax and Clermont for example.

It's a shame as they make good stuff.

There'll be no more jerseys available, either for players, or replicas for fans, unless/until the administrators sell the rights (assuming the intelectual property is held in the business(es) that have gone bust).

Those clubs with kit deals face the difficult decision of keeping their current kit design, knowing that they have only their current stock for players and for replica kit sales, or scrap the current lot, and sign a deal elsewhere with the prospect of the kit not being ready on time, or change strip mid-season.

Any sponsorship money owed by Canterbury (Europe) will not be received.

Rugbystore was selling the USAP home shirt from last season for £29.99 which I snapped up... Lovell had the 2009/10 shirt (which was the same minus Pepsi logo) for £49.99 so I am not sure where Perpignan stand on the kit front.

At the risk of repeating myself (!) Canterbury make great kit, I just hope an investor picks it up and saves it.

As an update, USAP have gone with Errea (who used to make horrible soccer kits, but have got better).

The new shirts have been in use for a couple of matches now and look nice.

Hopefully there will be a supporters version (with collar) available in the not too distant future.
